I view the world around me with the sense that the nature of everything is temporary and reduced to fleeting moments. And yet when I pass by a rock face, look out from the edge of a mountain or sit outside in a garden with the breeze on my face, I feel a sense in which the earth remembers. What stories could it tell?
The idea that the land connects us all, is the lens through which I look at forms, textures, the play of light, colour. Exploring layers of time, decay and memory I use a variety of media, including old pieces of wood, paper, canvas, conte, acrylic paint, watercolour and ink.
